My wife's sea doo buddy has a 1999 GTI. Her husband and dad tried to work on it a couple of years ago. It was blowing a fuse and would'nt do anything. They put an oversized fuse in and smoke came from the computer. She took it to a Marine dealer and he told her that it wasn't worth fixing. I believe that you could get a used computer and find the cause of the fuse blowing. Thoughts and commernts please.

The popping fuse was from a blown diode in the MPEM. That happens when you try to jump start a SeaDoo. (there is a warning sticker on the Ski that says to not do that)

That would have been fixable... but since you decided to force feed it with a large fuse... you roasted the MPEM.

If the ski is in good shape... then get a used MPEM off of ebay, or a used parts dealer (about $150) and make it run again.

If the ski needs a lot of work... then part it out, and buy something different.

Where in PA are you? My shop is in Latrobe and I live close to Irwin. If you local, and would like me to check it out... let me know.
