Clicking when starting 2008 GTI SE

Hey Everyone,

Just this weekend my 2008 GTI SE when you hit the start button it wont start but you can hear a clicking in the engine compartment. It does it a few times then will normally start up...however had a scare when we went out and it would start after like 15mins it finally did...needless to say stayed closer to home...you like a relay problem???

Any thoughts???

Not sure if I'm qualified to answer this question as I just bought my '08 GTI SE Today and have only started it once lol but you ought to check your battery cable connections, it sounds like a loose connection to me.

:agree: That is exactly what it sounds like. Check both battery cables and the ground going to the engine by the starter.
