Clear blue poly fuel lines turning milky white

I was poking around my ski and noticed that my new clear/blue fuel lines have turned a milky white and I can no longer make out the fuel flow in them arggggg!
Also my new fram g2 has broken on they inside and the filter element separated and is bouncing around inside its case very strange in my opinion because everything was just replaced a few months ago. Have you guys ever had issues with these clear poly fuel lines and fram g2 filters?

I could be wrong but it almost sounds like you may have a higher than normal amount of water in your fuel. That could cause both your issues. I had similar problems on my boat using poly fuel line and filters that use what appears to be a paper type element. It's fair to add that many people have used both clear poly and tygon with great success. But they may not have water in their fuel. I have since switched to black, I think it's neoprene, automotive fuel line. In order to see the fuel actually flowing, I put a Moeller Universal Inline Glass Filter near the carb intake. This particular one stays clear because it's glass and the filter element is not vulnerable to water in the fuel. It appears to be very similar to the filter element plastic mesh that SeaDoo uses in their stock fuel filter/water separator on my 98 SPX. So far the black line and filter are trouble free and my boat sits 4 feet above the water 24/7 on a lift over a lake in Florida where it's hot during the day and cool at night, so there's no doubt in my mind I have water in my fuel. I should add I have a water separator in my boat before the glass filter, but not in my SeaDoo.

I don't know about the fuel lines, it might be an issue you want to take up with your vendor. I know in the past I have suggested using the Fram filter, however I have changed to a all metal gas filter, it's a Hastings, don't know the number. Even though I have never had one fail, I have noticed that the Fram filters get deformed.

I've heard a lot of people have problems with the clear fuel lines. Never heard one person say anything about the rubber fuel lines. To me, you can't watch the fuel flow when it's running, not worth the headache

I have used both some due turn colors. Usually the neons one do that milky color. It is the UV light that changes them mostly. On a ski you can use automotive line since the coast guard is not involved on that part but on the jet boats you need coast guard approved. Big bucks there for that fuel line. The standard blue and red are usually good at not changing that much to still see in there. I but the real fast fuel brand made in the USA. There are knock offs out there that sell for less. The line does get a little harder after time..

As far as my filter goes I got the fram g2 at Walmart. I think I'm going to switch back to the standard marine black lines we have a Napa that sells 1/4 id marine grade fuel line that's what I have in my speedster and I have no issues sucks I have to redo everything but I can't just let it go. I might just try another fram g2 Mabey I just got a dud.

Thanks Lou does your Hastings look like this

Do you just swap it out each season? Just wondering because it's not transparent and you can't see if it's dirty/clogged.

I was just writing a reply, yep it looks like that, and yes I change it every season but you could probably go longer, these things are made to last for 50,000 miles in a car. It costs probably $1.00 more than the Fram. I've just been down the road with cheap parts, I tried to buy a battery from Advance (made in China), from now on I'm going to NAPA or Car Quest. It just doesn't pay to buy cheap parts when it comes to reliability and especially safety.

Ok cool thanks I'll give that one a shot. In my opinion the g2 seems cheaply made it looks as if it either came unglued or cracked on they inside and seperated.

Another good metal-bodied filter is the MICROGARD #33032.

As for the milky fuel line, it appears what you have isn't tolerant of gasoline.
