As I was checking the charging system on my 96 GTX i got the following results. When I hooked up the volt meter to the battery it read 12.95 V. When I put on the DESS key and pushed the start button the voltage dropped to 12.63 but once the engine started and began to idle it came back up to 12.98. Upon bring the RPM up to 4000 according to the guage on the ski the voltage came up to 14.02 adn remained there no matter how high the RPM went.
I read on other threads that the voltage should be between 14.5 and 14.8 volts but not over 15 volts. Does this mean I have an issue at 14.02 volts or am I ok. Second how accurate is the guage on the Seadoos. The manual says the engine should idle at 3500 RPM when connected to the hose and 1500 RPM in the water. I am idling at 1100 RPM connected to the hose. Will I have a problem when I put the ski in the water because it will not have enough power/ fuel to idle under the load of the water?

rpm is too low, if it is 1100 on the hose, it will stall out on the water when there is a load. turn it up to around 3000 on the hose and then tweak it when in the water and warmed up to be 1500 at idle in the water.

agree. voltage is good, time to ride it.

1100 RPM will be too low when you get it in the water. Start at 3000 rpm on the hose and go from there. LouDoo showed me a little trick that makes it very easy to adjust the idle while in the water. Just a little extension with a piece of 1/4" fuel line.

Every thanks for the confirmation that my charging system is ok. I will definitely crank up the idle speed. Kicker & Lou awesome trick with the idle screw I was trying to figure out how to adjust that on the water. Mano thanks for reminding me about the oil pump I did not think of that. Thanks again.
