Seadoo....

Have you looked at www.seadoo.com yet. They have vids of their boats in action. I don't know if they have the exact one your looking for, but the vids are really cool and done in excellent quality.....

That's about the closest I can come to for ya!......

I have an 06 Challenger 180 I regularly have 4 to 6 adults on board, and once a year take it behind a houseboat at Lake Powell which is the only time I ever have 8 people,(all adults) I don't have any pics as we were all on the Challenger and there was no room for a camera...

8 adults really loads the boat and drastically reduces performance but it is doable for just putting around. We did a dusk booze cruise around our own private little bay each night. You have to keep some speed or crossing wakes or waves or you might swamp the bow, the boat does not handle well with that kind of load.

Suffice to say, I am glad I don't have that many people more than once a season.

Spec sheet?...

The spec sheet for the 180 Challenger calls for it to handle a total of 8 persons, including driver with a total weight capacity of 1440 lbs.

ya im just trying to see if it will fit my needs. and i cant look at one yet cause the dealer does not have any and wont get there 09s till mid march.

i have an 08 and i have been very pleased with it. i regularly have 5-8 people on board and it still gets up just fine. i can still pull wakeboarders with 6 people with no problems. the 4tec is really an amazing motor.

Hell bent?.....

Are you hell bent on the 09 model?....I kinda don't understand the reasons behind that, unless it's just because you can.

The 08's are basically the same thing but substantially cheaper. As soon as you buy it, it loses 10% value.........

2008?

The 2008 model is optional with the 255 engine. It comes standard with the 215 but can be ordered with the 255's..........if the engine horsepower is all that it is, you could save a bundle in just getting the 08 with the engine size you want.

I'm sure, there is a showroom floor somewhere that still has it sitting out there.

Hold the ponies!..........

I'm sorry Ryan......I just got a PM from a good friend (rookie101) and he's pointed out that I made a mistake in the above post. I just finished research and guess what? He was right.

When I looked up the 180 Challenger, I thought I was looking at the 08 model when I was actually looking at the 09. So, I stand corrected. The 2008 model was only available in the 215 horsepower configuration.

But, one other thing. It's the 2009 that comes standard with the 215 hp engine. The 255 hp is optional in the SE model and would cost you a couple pennies more than the standard 2009 version, which already carries an MSRP of $22,999.

So, I hope that rights everything now..........thanks for the heads up Rookie101!...............

thanks ya i want the se and my dealer said that he is willing to work with me more on my trade in if i go with an 09 so hopefully it all works out

I would definately check your source on whoever said the 215 model is "underpowered". Again I have to reiterate how impressive this boat is with only 215hp. I regularly take mine out with a full load and it still has no problem jumping out of the water onto a plane in no time. I would even go as far to say that whoever said it was underpowered must have just rode one the PWC's with the same motor.

This is just speculation, but I'm thinking that you won't see a noticable difference between the 255hp and 215hp until you get up around top speed, and even then I think it's only a couple mph.

I do understand where you are coming from though...I know if I hadn't just bought mine last year I'd HAVE to have the 255 myself:cheers:

I generally take 5-6 adults out on my 2008 180 (with the 215hp). No worries about power whatsoever (in fact, I rarely go full throttle even with a full boat) but that said, I've not tried the 255.

I've had 8 people in the boat but 5 adults and 3 kids. 8 adults would be tight because technically you're supposed to seat 4 along the backbench, 2 in the captain's chairs, and 2 in the bow (not 3 in the bow like you'd think).

still need pics??

heres a couple bad pics from a couple year ago. the first year i owned my boat. it was freezing out that day. same as thomas said though. no lack of power. there were 7 of us that day but more like eight... if you no what i meen...
