Challenger 180 stereo question.

So I'm trying to replace the old head unit in my 2011 Challenger 180. I want to upgrade the entire stereo system. How the hell do you get the old stereo out? I have the original removal keys but it only comes out about an inch. I'm sure it's bolted to a support strap in the back but there is no way, I mean absolutely no way to access the wiring and the back of the head unit.
The port side front seat back won't come out. It's the kind that I would have suspected that you pull straight up on and it would come come off support tabs. I can see the tabs back in there and a giant access that would work great, but the seat is also attached around the Bottom by metal tabs that screw into the seatback and through fiberglass. no way to get to them.
Surely I can't be the only person to have ever replaced a stereo in one of these boats. Anybody have any ideas?
