I just replaced all the green gunk hoses on my 96 XP and I'm concerned I might have the hoses around the carburetor mixed up. Anybody got a diagram or photo of how they're supposed to be hooked up?

this posting in the HOW TO section shows the carbs with hoses still attached...I'm 90% sure. my work computer is being dump right now and not loading it because it hsa all the pictures.

lemme know if it helps/has the right picture. I have a picture on my phone from rebuilding my carbs last night that I can load up but its dark and crappy it seems when I look at it from my phone.

Did it right

That picture is great--I did it right. The thing is running now but very rough. Before it was running and idling fine but woudn't come up to speed, so I replaced fuel lines, cleaned out tank and selector. Having a hard time getting carbs off, but I was able to get to both little filters and cleaned them. I think I might have dropped one of the big O rings from one of the side panels (found it in the bilge) so maybe if I go back through the carbs I'll solve the problem. I know, I know--I should rebuild carbs completely, but I've got one allen head that's starting to strip, another bolt that acts like it's starting to strip in the manifold and two others that are stuck in the carb. Wish me luck.

haha preaching to the choir about "i know i know i should rebuild completely"...i was excited when I thought I was gonna be able to get away with just cleaning the filters...but got to them and they were clean! so now I just have both of them sitting on my kitchen table and gonna do a complete rebuild tomorrow.

sucks about all the allen screws! but atleast your was running! i can't get mine started haha!

Good luck!

now it won't start

So I rebuilt the carbs and now it won't run at all. Started right up before. Oddly, sometimes it won't even turn over and the VTS doesn't work. Then I jiggle the key, and it cranks, but hesitates, and won't start. Pulled a plug and doesn't appear to be getting spark. Is there some sort of security in the key switch that has maybe gotten screwed up?
