carbon seal

hi guys just wondering the correct way to replace the carbon seal on a 2010 seadoo do i have to remove the jet pump first and is there some kind of clip on the driveshaft that has to be removed first any help would be great thanks

The clip is under the collar, the thing that looks like a top hat. Don't remove the pump until you remove the C-Clip as you need to pry the collar. If you pull the pump you have nothing to pry against.

so the collar has to be pryed back toward the motor and the clip is under it then i can pull the pump

Collar needs to get pryed toward the pump. That is why you need to leave the pump in initially. If it wasn't installed there would be nothing to hold the shaft in place.
