I was thinking of Just Changing That oil once a year... Is that going to be enough??

The main reason folks defeat the OEM oiling is lack of knowledge in marine engines, in the joy of new ownership getting an old bottle of oil is the last thing on the mind of most folks so they go find something called marine oil without knowing any better it may mix and it may not, when it does not mix a gel forms and the pump draws this down to the nozzles and jamms them shut, you can flush the oiling system with kerosene and using premix 40-1 in 5 gallon loads watch for the tank to drop from the marks you made, when it is empty put in the proper type oil from a reputable place where you can buy it again and again, after the first bottle is used cut off the front and keep it in the glove box so you do not have to flush over and over every season.

What is the purpose of having the carbonfiber rotary valve, weight? Strength? I’m not asking to be a D$#@ I’m just curious.
