I purchased a Mikuni carb kit thinking it was a full kit. It looked pretty impressive as the vendor stressed quality and all parts included but while rebuilding the carbs I realized the large special formed o-ring was not included and also the o-ring for the fuel pump was not included. I was told by the vendor those parts don't go bad and are reusable but the can be ordered from the vendor's store.

I am not sure how many people reuse 20 year old o-rings but when i spend time taking something apart, cleaning, cleaning, and more cleaning inside and out.... I even sprayed an aluminum prep solution on the carbs and used Alodine to protect the carb aluminum surface. I also plan on painting the carbs. I do the best quality work I can... I like doing it "once" and not touching it again.

Just for general information, is it common practice "not" to replace the special formed o-rings and pump o-ring ?

Agreed. This guy sells thousands of kits and apparently I'm the only one complaining. LOL

On a side note the Kit I ordered from Venom worked great in the SPI it just did not come with the carb base gasket so I had to make one. Looks like I'll be waiting another week to get the carbs assembled.

Yes, OSD parts sells the OEM parts as a kit and omits those two "o-rings" TYPICALLY they're fine to re-use, I'll take a stab at that's where you bought from. They're listed in the a-la-carte section just below the picture you ordered as well as other items you possibly ordered like a new needle and seat. It's cheaper, that is how they keep the price down, I see nothing wrong with it. I prefer to order an FULL kit. Mikuni does not make a kit with a needle and seat, too many choices to choose from so you always have to purchase those seperately. The FULL kits are part@ MK-BN 38/44 SPR, they include the "o-rings" you did not get. The full kit can be purchased for $50 or less. There are also many other parts in those kits that I do not use, like the lever arm and springs and a few other gaskets etc.... due to incompatibility. The instruction sheet spells out which carbs get what gaskets. PLEASE pay close attention that you are buying GENUINE Mikuni parts, many shifty sellers use that part number or toss a different letter in there somewhere. Words like "replacement" typically is an aftermarket kit.

Well, great guy to work with for sure. He is shipping the parts due Sat. at no charge. I offered to pay. I will order from him in the future. One thing I don't like about Ebay is being able to talk to the Vendor. That sure helps eliminate issues....most of the time. Ha ha.

We good over here.

LOL, you're preaching to the choir about do it once and do it right. I'm not trying to get you to call out OSD, I've bought a bunch of stuff from him and so does my bro in law. Their customer service is top notch. You just gotta read(study) the entire carb kit page, it can be daunting for guys just getting into the sport or just rebuilding their first set of carbs. Either way, I'm sure your rebuilds will turn out great.

Thanks for the support on that. You nailed the Vendor right off the bat. :) LOL

For sure carbs are no problem I never let anyone work on my equipment. This is my second carb job on the jet skis in a month and I have another one waiting in the wings. It's a 1995 SPX my nephew gave me. I'm having a great time working on these skis I think I need to build a 3 ski trailer. :) You guys are a great help getting me up to speed on this.
