So i had an exhaust leak on my ski and it filled up with water started to sink and almost wiped out my whole motor, so i was wondering if i can put a bilge pump in my ski and if it is hard and expensive?

Thanks

Sure you can. Lots of us do it. The crappy bailers are...crap. And mine started to suck water back INTO the ski, so I threw them away and put in a bilge pump.

I have mine mounted under one of the spring thingies that held the bailers in, and wired into the VTS switch, both of them. VTS is shot, so recycled the buttons.

Shoots water out just behind my right foot at 360 gph or so.

Thanks bro you just drilled a whole in the side of the ski, also where r u in texas I'm moving to austin next year

The Bilge pump is a good thing, but you should still correct the problem anyway. It shouldn't leak any water into the seadoo.

I did correct the problem my head pipe cracked so I got a new one, but just in case any thing like this happens again I wanna be covered.it was scary as hell.

Good thinking on your part. The bilge pump will come in handy for everyday use too. :)

Yea the s**** part is I just bought the ski but no worreys its a 2002 seadoo rxdi with 25 hours on it I got it for 2000 cause it wouldn't run right all that was wrong was the pin in the connector for the computer backed out and my number 2 coil wasn't getting power so I kinda scored lol

I found all the typical problems, and solved most of them, but still had a leak somewhere where the two halves of hull come together. Previous owner said his buddies got drunk and hit each other at a 45 degree angle at high speed, which would explain my problem. VTS didn't work but the button did, so I wired one up and if I am doing hard riding, about every 20 minutes I hit the button for a few seconds.

On smooth water, not jumping waves or submarining the ski, I seldom use it at all.

I live south of Houston in Angleton riding the boat in Lake Houston mostly, and the XP off the beach in Surfside.
