I just purchased 2 jetskis both 96 an xp and an spx. Both could use new keys, as they are a lil loose, and lanyards are beat to hell. Can I get these from a dealer?

Thanks,

Tom

Yes you can buy from a dealer or you can buy from here look at the top right hand corner of the page and click on parts. The spx is going to be the cheaper one as it is not dess. The xp you will have to buy a more costly lanyard and take the ski to have your computer programmed to the new lanyard. If I am wrong some one will let you know. :)

if they still work, just replace the "bungy" part, with 2 buk ones from Wal-Mart.

I did not know that they SPX was a standard post and lanyard. Some of the 96 models I checked, were DESS. I missed this one.

You can actually buy the lanyards for this model at Walmart. The DESS lanyard cap has to be bought and programmed to your MPEM for that ski. Bring your paperwork because a dealer will want you to prove it is your ski, not stolen.

The standard universal lanyards from Walmart come with every lanyard possible for starting everything from Yamaha to Seadoo. So, you'll want to cut off all the others you don't need.......

super mod seadoo you were gonna post pics of it, where in the store did you find it, and pics? Can you help me with my premium trouble topic? Thanks,

Tom

PM...

I got your PM about your not being able to find it at Wally World.

I'm attaching a pix to the one I bought for my GTX because the old one was rotten.

When I bought it, it came with every conceivable safety cap that was made for every ski. That was the forked type and the cap type. This red tether is strong enough to pull your safty cap off and kill the motor. I know, I got thrown from my GTX and it pulled the lanyard and killed the motor.

You'll note in the pix, I have cut off all the ones that I did not need and kept the cap for my ski. It also came with a whistle.

It may be that in your location, they aren't being carried. You might try your local Boats-r-us or West Marine.

I did a quick search, West Marine has the same, identical one I purchased from Walmart. I think I paid about $10 bucks for mine, West Marine wants $20. You can also order this online. I checked Walmarts online services and they did not have it.

If you go to West Marine, you'll pay more for that item. I don't know why, but the last time I found something online at West Marine, they charged me almost double as to what I found it for on their website. So, if you can, you might want to order it.

I'm going to attach the pix below.
