Just finished replacing all the gray tempo lines on my 97 GTI and 2000 GS. It was relatively easy to do. Although the GTI was easier due to larger openings.

Next job, complete carb over haul's. (Never been done on either ski.)

Just saying Yea Me.

Picked up 18 ft (for the GTI) of Marine Grade lines at West Marine for $1.59 a ft. And 16 ft from Richardson Motorsports (in Texas) for $1.79 ft.

Carb rebuilds are not that tough. Make sure to use OEM parts and I recommend replacing the needle and seat too.

Yea, that's what I've heard. I'm looking at taking them to a shop down here and have them check both units out.

I'm still an amature at some things. Heck I think I'm more comfortable removing the head and replacing seals than messing with a carb.

Maybe I'm just crazy.

Btw all the parts you sent worked great.

Yeah, I feel the same way. I rebuilt the top end of my wife's 720 engine, but the thought of rebuilding my carbs makes me scared.

I think my biggest concern is that I know if the carb doesn't work right the whole engine isn't going to run right and possibly blow the motor.

I am mechanically inclined but still scares me.

I took my wife's 2001 GS in to a dealer to have her carb rebuilt, they told me 1 price, then when I picked it up they charged me almost 2x the price.

..and every dealer I asked about rebuilding the engine (before I ended up doing it myself) was just going to order an SBT engine and do a engine swap, but charge me almost 2x the price that I could buy the engine for from SBT directly AND labor ontop of that.

So I'm done forever with taking my ski to a dealer for anything.

I need to rebuild the carbs on my 787 (GSX), but I'm trying to decide weather to try it myself or send them off to Watercraft Magic (Bill O'Neal).

you both can send your carbs to me, with or without the rebuild kits? pm me if interested.

I can figure out almost anything myself but I too am intimidated by carbs. My big hands dont do well with small parts. My plan has always been to use this guy when I need them done.

Carbs really arent as mystical and hard as it looks. There is an expanded parts illustration in the rebuild kit, and if you just take your time and lay everything out...and do one carb all at one time.

The only secrets are using all Mikuni parts....although I have had one or two bad mikuni needles and seats right out of the bag. That would require you to have a pop off tester to figure out....which can be homeade. The instructions are on youtube.

If you plan on doing seadoos its time to man up and give it a shot...esp if you guys are doing top ends!! You'll wonder what took you so long....its tedious, but not hard.

No problem man thanks for the biz....
