hey I'm brand new to this forum. I used to own a seadoo rxp 215, it was an 06 but i sold it about 2 years ago, I'm ready to own another ski because i have regretted selling the other one ever since i sold it. I am going to be buying a 2012 rxp x 260, the lowest price i have gotten so far is a 14,900 out the door with out a trailer, how does that price sound? is that still high? and also does any one know where to buy cheap jet ski trailers? besides craigslist and ebay.

A little high, imo. msrp is $14,399 but dealers should sell for $2k under that and a basic trailer should cost you around $600.

alright, ill try and talk them down a little bit more then. basically for that deal i was looking at 13,500 plus tax and licensing fees. ima try and see if i can get it for 15,200 with the trailer out the door, if i could get that i would buy it.

just call or go to other dealers, once they realize you are a serious buyer, they will get very competitive against each other, especially the big dealers. they get kick backs and all sorts of extras so they can go even lower. you might be surprised at how good of a deal you can get, definitely better than where you're at now. sales are slow and still down(but improving), so there are plenty of RXPX 260s to be found.

thanks man, ya it started at 15,300 out the door then i called another place out of state and got a price of 14,900 so I'ma go back to the local place and tell them the new price i got and see if they will beat it, and then eventually get it down to my price.

tell them your new price is 14,550 OTD.
Have you contacted a dealer that might be out of state but not too far away, but also keep in mind if you buy from one dealer don't expect the other to give you preferred treatment on warranty work or otherwise.

Maybe it's just me and maybe it's because I work at a car dealership. But when you're looking a laying down 15,000 or so on a new ski, what difference does a few hundred make? To me it would be worth the money to find a dealer I could trust to honor the warranty and do the work, you're looking at hopefully a long term relationship. "Service after the Sale"

Ya the cheaper price is out of state, about 3 hours away from me and the more expensive one is right by my house. And the reason for saving the couple hundred bucks is to use that extra money towards the trailer. And the local seadoo dealer has a bad rep around here.

I always loved that statement from dealers. The look on their face is priceless when I say if it's only a couple hundred then you won't mind taking it off your price. Though I will admit I picked up a new 2011 gti se 155 last sat. for 9420 otd and I never tried to negotiate a better deal
as I was happy with the price.

I got a price of 14,900 ski plus trailer, before tax, after tax it would be 15,500 its in florida. I have a question tho. If i buy it out of state, will i need to take the ski there every time it gets serviced or can any dealer honor the warranty?

alright, thats fine, as long as i dont have to make the 4 hour cross-state journey. Im pumped to get this ski, i think im going to get it next saturday, and down here in new orleans, its hot alot so i can ride alot, i cant wait!
