I am about to buy a USED 2004 RXP - $6200 seem to be where we are stuck on the pricing.

Here is what I would get for $6200.
RXP in MINT condition with 30 hours - runs great
Shorelander Trailer - Single place the one good for 1400lbs and no miles
2 pull over life jackets
1 anchor
New Battery
Sea Doo Boarding Step
Sea Doo Cover - never used

What do you guys think?

Location may make them more rare out there, so that affects pricing. Around here you'd expect to see that sell for about $5500...

Has the owner followed all of the maintenance proceedures? Replace the supercharger washers? Any major work done to the craft?

Yes the owner has followed all the mant. Proceedures. The intercooler was replaced under warrenty because of improper instructions given to dealer on winerizing. Wahers are original to ski.

You'll need to replace the washers and *possibly* rebuild the supercharger to be safe. I would use this as negotiating points to lower his price. The parts you need are located on PWCMuscle.com.

Other than that, I'd say a sea trial and then it'd be a good deal. Post up a few pics if you can.

Def. want to change the S/C washers. Where i am located the price seems a little high. I just saw a 06 RXP go for $7000 with 40hrs. But you are in Iowa. So thats prolly the difference.

Ok.... Well I know the sc washers can be a problem.... Is that something a knoledgable diy'er can do or seadoo dealer only?

It's not too bad...here are the instructions:

As quoted from another thread:

There are two ways you can upgrade them...

1) upgrade ONLY the washers (cheaper)
2) upgrade and rebuild with '08 spec components (better but more expensive)

The links above are to PWCMuscle.com where you'll find the lowest prices on the rebuild kits. There are a bunch of additional performance parts on there for the RXT that you can browse and check out as well.

It's my opinion that for peace of mind you should do the full rebuild to '08 spec. Can you keep going with out a rebuild? Yes, technically your seadoo will keep running with dead superchargers as well

Not too shabby

I went to nada.com for the value of the craft i saw you were from Iown so i used clinton, ia as the zip code and it came back with $5755. Thats not too bad of a price for what you get i'd try for 6000. Just test drive it and keep an eye out for anything out of the norm and noises. Another thing is find out were they had work done so you might be able to call them and find out if they've had to do any major work.

Subtract 700.00 from the asking price to cover the SC full rebuild job and that's your price!!! I just did two 05"s I got with only 16 hr's. combined at 700.00 each.
