Bob (Waterluvr) is AWESOME!

So, in looking to find someone to go over the rebuild I did to my 657X carbs last year, I got to speak with Bob. He spent a BUNCH of time with me on the phone, in PM as well as e-mail. Well, I made a trip from Ohio to him in Indiana and he took my carbs apart and fixed a few things I did not do so well, dug deeper into them than I did and fine tuned everything. I wish I lived closer to him as would look to hook up for some rides together! He and his wife were AWESOME! People like this make this forum priceless!

THANKS Bob!

Tried to correct the misspelling I did on his screen name onj the title but will not update???

A++++. You are close!
I went all the way from Toronto! But just off by 8 days, other wise I would be able to know how 12lbs lobster taste like :-)

Yes bob is awesome!
Bob thanks for the carb info, just finished rebuilding both on Saturday nite, will hopefully throw them in tomorrow night!

Gary it was a pleasure to have you here with us today, I always enjoy meeting and helping good people and fellow enthusiasts of affordable 2-stroke horse powered watercraft. Folks like you making a real effort to preserve what's left of these older ski's and boats might just be the reason another generation can afford to go boating in the future with their families.

This is the best Forum I have ever been a Member of! My Family had boats when I was a kid. I had forgot about fun on the water. Bought 2 SKi's last Nov and it's been a blast since then. I noticed people with the old Ski's are great people! Having trouble with a SKi? Five guys helped me roll one of ours on edge so I could cut a rope off my drive shaft. Where else would that happen?

You guys are going to be the death of me! :) Another forum member I do carb work for brian lewis087 called me up and said he had another box of carbs he needed to overnight if I could possibly fit them in somehow this week. I said sure go ahead and send them I don't need to sleep this month ~look what shows up today from FedEx fresh from Maine.

Thank you very much Brian! It was a really good season this year, keep buying those Sea Doo's and I'll make sure they run for you.

Ok, Bob, just to be clear, you guys started with crabs or carbs originally? LoL

I can't agree more with the great comments about Bob. I went down to South Bend for a day when offered to show me how to work on my 97 Challenger. We worked on a ton of different things while he rebuilt my carbs. Rave Valves, Bucket adjustments, throttle adjustments, ...
It was nice to spend time with someone who knows so much about these boats and has the patience to work with Newbee's. It was a great visit and now I have the confidence to work on this thing my self. Thanks Bob, from Bob.

I can echo that Waterluvr is patient for us newbs. My best learning style is hands on. I sent him both sets of dual carbs from my boat to rebuild and I know that he cursed the day that they arrived (they hadn't been off the boat since 1998!!!). All rebuilt and when I stopped by to pick them up, he walked me through tear-down, cleaning, pop-off test, reassembly, and other Mikuni secrets.

All you guys seeking out knowledge and not afraid of a hard days work are the reason I still work on boats and ski's, after 30+ years of doing it to pay the bills it was nice to semi-retire and just not worry about how much it should cost or how many hours it takes to make something right again. Bottom line is if you guys weren't spending your hard earned money on these old boats and ski's to buy them and putting forth the effort to learn how to work on them the whole lot would wind up in landfills or in the hands of kids that can't or won't see them ever made whole again as they lay to waste.

It was a pleasure for me to spend time with you guys this year and I really do enjoy helping you keep your watercraft in good working order without them becoming a financial burden to you, quality time on the water with family and friends are the things some of life's best memories are made from and we can all use more of that.

It was a great season and I hope next year brings us more opportunities to keep having some fun with these.
