so i found the speaker that is supposed to beep at me when there are problems, etc. well it was unplugged and now i know why. when i plug it back in it just beeps continuously. very loud and annoying. it isn't several beeps, just one long loud beep the entire time it is plugged in. so, i understand why they unplugged it, but why is it doing that i don't have DESS, only that capped switch. accorrding to the owners manual it could be bad safter lanyard, but i pushed the switch in while it was making the noice and it keeps doing it. back and forth on the RND handle does nothing. i tried everything. it also says bad connection could cause it, but bad connection for wait exactly?

any thoughts?

thanks,

Hank

temp sensors bad
low oil-have at least 1 gallong of oil at least. it is right above the red line on the guage, which i don't know if that works as i added oil and it didn't raise any. had to suck oil out because the seal around the oil sensor leaks
low fuel-fuel is half full

I guess you found your own issue. But, just a little FYI.

THe buzzer is fed power, and all the sensors control the ground to complete the circuit. So... disconnect all the grounds to the things that can be wrong, turn on the power, and then plug them back in one at a time until the buzzer starts to buzz.

I'm going to point my finger at the temp sensor. (but it's just a guess)

Good luck

okay.......unpluged every single thing i could unplug. even the guages, nuetral switch, gas tank, oil tank. bilge pump, temp sensors. etc etc etc.....still long continuous beep.

i am guessing that whoever did the "repair" to my mpem didn't do exactly what they where supposed to. idk just a guess. somethings not right, but for now unplugging the beeper works fine. LOL! i'll trace it down at some point.

i did take the spark plug wires off, they were barely screwed in and so i cut them at the ends and rescrewed them in. checked them one at a time to see if the motor started and it they all worked fine.

so i really don't know what is wrong with the beeper.

i did tighten up the steering as it was very sloopy and i shimmed up the little gear box to get it to sit straight out of the steering column piece it was sitting to the right and down a bit. so i shimmed up the left side of the steering box, between the box and the mounting plate. this pushed the left side back towards the front of the boat, resulting in straightening the column out. it also made the steering more tight. which i like. it was all sloopy before. much better now.

took out the screws they had holding the storage box in....idiots, its doubles as a ice chest, cant dump the water if you have it screwed in. ugh! grrrrr!!
