Battery

guys anyone know where to get a part on a 2004 Seadoo GTX battery? I took the battery out last night, which was fun on it's own. Anyways I lost a small rectangular piece of stainless steel which is used to screw down the the battery cable to the battery. I rather buy if easy to find, I may make if need be. So basically this piece slots in and has a thread for the bolt to screw into. hard to describe.

Yeah....those lil fckrs are a pain to keep up with. Only managed to lose mine as I'm gonna install a new battery....which come with them. I'd imagine your stealership would have a few on hand.

we know what you are talking about. It's the damn floating nut. about a dozen of them in the bottom of my hull somewhere. you could try just a regular nut.

If it's the same type of part I'm thinking of. My battery place gave me a tip when i had the same thing happen, but now my batteries have bolts that screw into the battery itself.

Anyway he told me to cut a small piece of vinyl tubing and stick it under the nut to hold it against the "bracket" until you are able to start threading it. Once the screw is in, that holds the tubing in place until next time. He actually keeps some pieces cut to hand out to his customers.

So the tubing goes under the bracket, then you take the screw and screw into the tubing? the bracket hole for the screw is oversized, so what hold the screw in place the tubing? do you use same screw or a larger one? a picture may help?

I'll make a drawing since I no longer have that type of battery. I'm sure the drawing will suck big time, but give me a few minutes to scan it and then post it.

guys my machinist made one up, he can make a few more if needed. What does the dealer charge just curious? tried to attach pics but no luck.

I would think most places that sell that type of battery have the Bolt/Block available.. Autozone, Sear, Advance auto parts...
