Battery charge ...

As my '98 Challenger is a bad starter my battery is becomming weak ... so i'm thinking of pluging my Optimate to the battery.

But i read some 'horror stories' about electric probs when charging the battery, so my question: is it save to charge the battery and keep it in good condition with an optimate?

disconnect one of the battery cables while charging to be safe.

Which one should i disconnect ... pos. or neg. or is it all the same ...

I normally take off the positive cable, just because it's easier to grab. But, by the book... you should probably take off the neg.
