He rebuilt my engine and it grenaded after only two hours of use. He told me after the fact that I had no warranty and I should have sent it to SBT in the first place.

Any time you get anything major done to your seadoo, you should get it in writing, and what the warranty is. That is why these backyard mechanics are a waste of time. It seems cheaper till you get the project done and it isn't what it is suppose to be. If it's not on paper you have no grounds to pursue it further to get it corrected. Legitimate repair facilities charge a bit more, but you usually get what you pay for. There are a lot of non dealers that know what they are doing and charge less than a franchised Seadoo dealer.
