Automatic Float Switch

I want to put a Float Switch on my 95 Speedster which unfortunately doesnt come with one, I have found a Seachoice one at a local marine store for $17 The boat doesnt stay in water i just want the safety of having one, Has anyone ever used one of these? Good or Bad?
