There's a few things I watch for on craigslist in addition to possible seadoo projects. It seems like there are nearly as many scams lately as there are real postings. Luckily, none of the scammers will ever figure how to improve their grammar skills. They never seem to describe what they are selling, instead they talk about how the registration stickers look awesome, or the maybe how the trailer keeps things smooth for great travel.

Recently I started looking for a used macbook pro for my daughter. Honestly, the majority postings I see each morning are usually scams. I've been "flagging" 2-3 per day. Its worse the than the PWC scams, probably because they are easier to "ship"

These two seadoo's have been poping up daily as well. different angles at least form time to time. Sure wish there was a way to track these clowns down.

Just search "knock me here" in CL, you can find lots of them. I have been doing that the past few mornings just to flag anything suspicious. Probably not worth the time, but if it saves one person from these crooks, maybe it is?

I love craigslist, it makes everyone hostile. Soon as I post anything people are asking to take 1/2 off. I always meet in a public place with a few items of protection on my person. Some areas are offering to allow people to meet at police stations. I imagine asking the buyer/seller to meet at a police station may put a stop to quite a few transactions before any idiots lose money... or worse.

I couldn't read the fine fine print on the apple ad, the SD add was easy to spot as a scam.

I've bought/sold so much stuff on CL and have had great luck.

I've had my share of scammers, but its getting pretty easy to spot them these days, at least for me.

I've heard that police stations/parking lots are a good idea, I agree, I don't let my wife handle craigslist just for those reasons (crazy peeps) I handle all of it.

I fixed up two spare trailers Sunday, listed them sunday night and they were both gone by sunset on Monday, full asking price.

Anybody know what the scam actually is? I see the new 4 strokes with pictures from Florida advertised here in California for $2,500 so I know it is obviously as scam but what are they looking for?

re: those guys, i'm not sure myself, I assume they would say that you must paypal or give check/cash then they'd ship/deliver ???

I always assumed the "buyers" were going to paypal/send check then reverse it later....

when I get text's from the buyers they can usually be spotted easily, but sometimes they get me to respond then send the auto txt, "my buyers agent" stuff, and then I just ignore or reply with either:

a) just sold it, but I have a warm bag of chit fresh out of my dogs azz for $5.

b) i'll copy/paste bible verses.

c) provide them with my paypal address as attorneygeneral.fl.gov

Nope and I can't figure it out. The only thing I can think of is they try to get you to send payment first??? I can't believe anyone is that dumb....OK I guess I can.

I searched "knock me here" in some Carolina pages - wow, this guy is busy. Sometimes I will google the phone number if I suspect something. Often you get a hit or two of someone posting on a forum complaining about a scammer.
