Any ideas on flipping a ski for bottom repair

Hey I purchased a used ski which needs some slight bottom work. I have the motor out and would like to find a good safe way to flip and hold the ski for the repair. I was curious if anyone out there had tackled something like this and if so how.

My first thoughts were to use 2 opposing engine stands. I would somehow need to attach one to the front and one to the rear. Not sure how I would attache them though

what ski specifically? with the engine and gas out, they don't weigh much.

set up two saw horses to fit in the foot wells upside down, should hold it just fine.

I used a manual winch on each end and flipped a 02 XP without issue, then sat it down on saw horses.

agree the saw horses are your best bet and with three guys you can do it by hand with the MOTOR, GAS TANK, AND OIL TANK OUT

I used saw horses with Kawsaki 750 SS. And I did it with engine in, but with tanks completely drained. Depending on the depth of the foot wells and the height of the seat rail you may have to uses something to shim the sawhorse or the legs may be to wide to clear the sides. But, certainly makes it a lot easier to work on the bottom.

I got 3 friends to come over, laid down a couple of packing blankets and then rolled the ski over on its side on those and then picked it up by hand and set it on the sawhorses.

Okay so looks like Saw horses may be the way to go.

Any thoughts on what to paint it with. The hull is yellow from the factory but someone has boogered it up with a crappy yellow paint job. I would like to spray something however understand the bottem is gonna be hard to keep from chipping etc. What do you all recommend to coat with with. Im an experienced auto body guy so I have all the tools etc to do the work. I have even sprayed gel coat.... but I hate it

I would love to paint it black but am worried about the yellow showing through when it gets scrapped

You should get the practice with that gel coat...wish I could spray mine this winter but I am not a body guy. Mine is white so I'll be doing lots of little patches with epoxy. Good luck
