i have a 2002 gtx rfi and a 2011 gti se 155 , they both can run on 87 but i have been using 93 octane in them. Am I hurting them any ? they seam to run well with the 93. I am just used to running 93 in my toys, And want them to last.

If your recreational ski has over 175 psi a higher octane is beneficial. under = waste $$$

Grease your drive zerks after every ride if your ski has them, and always FOG the two-stroke engine at shutdown and it will last a much much longer time.

Using 93 octane won't hurt your skis' at all and if it mkes YOU feel better then do it. On the other hand, the skis' were designed to run on lower octane and the use of higher octane will usually cause them to run a little sluggish. I personally use higher octane also. I do so because I don't necessarily believe the stated octane on the pump is what I'm actually getting. Better safe than sorry.

Good point with the false octane idea, i just dont want any deposit build up or any issues with bad gas , maybe i will run 89 for now on. also not worried about saving $1.50 on cheaper gas

You really fog it everytime you ride it ?? First Ive heard of this.. sounds like a good idea, do others do this ??

The older ski's, I have 3 96 models, were made to run on 87 octane pure gas. What we usually get is 87 octane ethanol. So to make up for the shortfall I personally use 89-91 octane, 93 is probably overkill. If I buy gas at the lake I buy 87 octane, but it's pure gas.

There's actually a fogging port in the air box, there's a hole with a rubber plug, just spray the fogging oil in the hole.

Ethanol can bite my shiny metal ass.

I plan to run 89 this summer... we ran our last 951 on 89 and it ran over 300 hrs before a rebuild...

lol, I literally spend about 20-30mins after EVERY TIME I RIDE, first i freshwater flush the ski, then i take the plugs out, fog the motor AFTER EVERY SINGLE RIDE, then i either CLEAN THE PLUGS or put new ones in after every ride...im thinkin thats why in my short learning experience of 3 months of owning a ski, I've blown thru an MPEM, had my hull submerged to the seat with nasty rusty saltwater three times, had blown ALL 4 engine mounts, various leaks from all angles, and I STILL HAVE 145 psi in both cylinders...PLUS I WAS RUNNING THE WRONG OIL ALMOST THE ENTIRE TIME...
oh, by the way, we get our own fuel delivery here at my lab, its 91 ETHANOL FREE octane, so im guessing that does help a bit..
but yea, the fogging part takes less than 30 seconds, so for my piece of mind, being an older ski, its worth it...
to each, his own..

and tacoma, im pretty sure you can either take the filters off, or keep them on and spray a little bit into the carbs, as it nets the same result, or just take the plugs out and fog the motor directly..
its like $3.99 for STA-BIL FOGGING OIL SPRAY

mine is a regular size can, and ive used it almost every day the last three months, using ALOT of it when my motor was flooded three times, and i still have almost a 1/4 can left.

IF you remove to drill (shavings) your AF's you can get plugs at a home improvement or hardware store. I may have the airbox & arrestor,
cheap, but not the houseing, support plate, or screws. $15 shipped. If you went back stock, the PO probly also re-jetted, you would have to also, which adds to the cost.

i have the whole setup if you wanna go back to stock...(mines from a 96 spx, i think you have a 787, so im not sure if it will work)
