Filled the inside of my 1999 GTX DOO today, got it drained pulled plugs cranked for about 1/2 hour till no more water came out, sprayed wd40 in cleaned and put plugs back started it up to blow out seems to run ok is there anything else I need to do ?
1999 gtx feulinjected

get it out on the water and ride it, immediately, to burn up any water left inside, if it passes that test, your good to go.
and although i'm not totally against wd40 i'd prefer corrosion block or fluid film be used.

i'm serious...

get it out and ride it, now, leave work early or come in late, whatever you have to do,,,, ride it.. you can't wait till the weekend.

how did you fill it in the first place? what went wrong ?

buddy only put in one of the two plugs, its 9 oclock and dark in wa,state I will try to leave work early to get back on the lake, but I probaly wont be able to get back out till wen. do you think I will be ok?

NO! if you cant get to it , then have someone start it every hour tomorrow.......you have to keep corrosion from siezing the engine. your looking at really expensive repairs if you dont ride it soon. at the very least , run it for five minutes on the hose, then let it cool, then run it for five minutes, then let it cool do this for an hour or so, you have to get rid of the water in the system , i cant stress this enough, a mistake like your about to make cost me almost $1200 so if you have to call off DO IT, otherwise shit gets expenisve quick.

Dschmidt is correct, if you don't get that water burned out, your either going to be looking at a major engine repair or you'll be listing your ski on craigslist for $600 OBO by next week.

yes...all of the above. And fog the motor with fogging oil after a good hard blast on the lake.

And def check and dry the ebox....also might want to disconnect the big plugs on the mpem, blow them out, let everything dry, then put some dielectric grease on them...hell do all the connectors....it can only help.

texting his girlfriend to put on the lanyard, and press the red button , count 30 and pull the lanyard, every hour lol

honey... the lanyard is the yellow thing with the springy coil thing hanging from it....

yes dear I realize it doesn't look like a key....

pull the choke.... that's the black thing sticking out, not the handlebar, its smaller than that.... oh,, never mind, i'm coming home dear.

well it just so happens that they were lean when i had them on last.........now they should be perfect , i took em to a shop to be cleaned and tuned since i blew the engine last time i screwed with em lol.

yes, your plugs will be a white chalky color if your lean , it will also run like a beast , absolutly screamin, lean is hard to detect thats why they say when you tune it , make sure you start rich an work it till its just right........usually your ok as long as your carbs are set to factory settings. but the one thing people dont know is that those old grey tempo lines will gunk up the filters in the carbs, and then when your running , the ski might bog for a second or so, and if you pulse the throttle it will come right back, well when it does this the ski bogs because its lean. then people end up with blown blocks................in my case, the one oring in the rear (pto) carb was ripped, so when i jumped waves, the ski would bog, i just pulsed the throttle, .........well i blew the rear cylender right in front of the marina, and forced it back sputtering on one. if its running good and the plugs have a nice almost choclatey brown color to em, leave it alone...........but if you have any of the symptoms i listed. get those carbs checked by a professional .

cool, thanks for the info, mine just got running recently, so I'll check the plugs intermittently, but it seems good, and I don't have to use the choke to start mine either, even after it's been sitting

no choke would usually mean that the carbs are either set up rich, OR more likely, since you just rebuilt the carbs and they're like new, the needles are holding pressure inside the carb, so you don't have to pull the choke so the motor pulls more vaccum and builds pressure in order for the carb to start squirting fuel.

i've heard of cold enrichment settings on fuel injected 4-strokes being in the range of 2-3 times the amount of fuel needed at normal operating temp at idle.

Well, that scared the crap out of me! I'm sitting here wishing I could have helped POLE13 somehow.

POLE13, how did it turn out? Did you get the water out? Is your ski still operational?

That is a 787 engine. After flooding the engine with water you must also drain and refill the counterbalance oil per the manual. 1 ounce of 30wt engine oil.
