You will find it to be an entirely different kind of ski than your XP. The 215 engine has a Super Charger (SC). This will require you to rebuild it every 100 hours, (could be 200 hours, not sure when they changes the kits but I think the 2013 is 200 hours). You will love the 4-tech engine. It is SUPER easy. Put gas in the gas tank and make sure there is oil in the engine. No oil tank of any kind like the 2-strokes. The one down fall is, everything on the 4-tech skis costs more than the 2-strokes. It has to do with newer technology more than anything else. Lots more electronics, larger and heavier hulls and engines and a bit harder to diagnose if you have an issue.

I own both a GTX and an RXT-X. I love them both.

Is reliability pretty good and i know about the supercharger at 200 hrs, I think i'm getting a pretty good deal at 12,000 OTD with trailer w torsion axle and 9.25% TN sales tax and the other state fees and 3 year extended warranty.
Is the ride drastically better than say a 98 GTI 3 seater?

In my opinion, reliability is great. The 4-tech engine is VERY proven and I have seen many exceed 400 and 500 hours before needing repair. That said, generally speaking, the higher the HP and more goodies such as SC'rs and inter-coolers it adds stress.. I have had mine three seasons (four actually but have not hit the water yet this year) and am super happy with them.

Though I have not ridden a 98 GTI, I can tell you there have been SUBSTANTIAL hull changes. So I would think that there will be a pretty noticeable difference. The newer 4-tech skis are very stable, lower center of gravity, heavier in most cases but with a better power to weight ratio. I'd be very shocked if you are disappointed once you buy the ski.

For money comparison, I bught both my skis new from the dealer in 2011. (Never titled, 1 hr on the meters). The 09 RXT-X I paid $9999.00 My GTX I paid $10,500.00 He bought a dealership that went bankrupt and these were from the other dealers stock that didn't sell.

When you're talking reliability in a high performace high revving engine that also happens to be boosted, well that all depends on how you treat it. Neglect and abuse will kill it in no time. Regular maintenance and due diligence goes a long way in extending their life. That said generally a well maintained 4tech should live 400-500 hrs. I've seen one as high as 800 but I'm sure it was on borrowed time. The big thing with the supercharged motors is the oil. Never use synthetic oil as it will cause premature wear to the supercharger washers and can cause it to fail. Only use the XPS oil from BRP or 10w40 motorcycle oil. I use the latter and never had an issue.

the difference between a 98 GTI and a 13 GTR is NIGHT and DAY.
there is no comparison.
I had a buddy with the GTR and he really liked it, had IBR which was pretty dam cool too.
enjoy the ski, you'll love it, and you'll be shocked at how much power it produces.
note: hard turns at speed, the sponson's can dig in, and toss you pretty easily, it won't slide like the xp did, so get used to the turns on this thing or expect to go flying off the side.

One of my skis has the IBR. It it the one I let "fiends" ride. They all love having it and it is pretty natural for them to use.
