Advice on purchase, 1998 SPX

New to the site, hello to all. I've got a ski boat but never had a pwc. I've got 3 ski doo sleds so I'm familiar with the brand, just not in the water. The wife really wants one, but I'm not looking to break the bank. This is one I'm looking at tomorrow. I'm in Central MA, this seems like the best short money deal around. Pictures look very clean, putting in the water to test. Just looking for some advice and what to look for on it. Thanks to anyone who can help!!

Here's the listing:
1998 seadoo spx 787cc. it has a stage one race kit new plugs. just de-winterized. recent battery. last year i had both carbs completely over hauled wand corroded / broken bolts replaced. recent coil pack too.i also swapped out the steel trailer for a nice aluminum trailer. when park everything was in working order.i parked it in august of 09 due i bought the bigger atv and was riding that more than the seadoo. 1900 or b.o.

What is it you are looking for in this thread? From what I see, you appear to be trying to sell it? Please elaborate.

I was wondering if that price was fair, and if there's anything in particular that I should look for. I'm going to look at it to buy it tomorrow. Thanks

being your first ski, i would keep looking. The skis' been modified, so it'll effect the longivity of it, along with possible, it may run perfect at one lake, then go somewhere else where elevation is different..etc, and it'll fall on its face.

Just saving you the possibility of frustration and detour of being interested in seadoos.

Noted ..... by the way, what is a "Stage 1 race kit"? They guy selling it didnt even know

it could be anything, "he" considers a race kit....bigger carbs, aftermarket pipe, port/polish cylinders,intake,exhaust...i'd walk-away
