New here I am a big jeeper but looking for a new toy

So I have been looking into jetskis and have been looking at the gtr 215.

What i have been hearing and seeing in videos that they are limited to 65ish mph because of the limiter

Ive rented standard jet skis that have gone 60 mph.

My question is whats it going to cost me to bypass that and what are some good kits. Or should I save the money and go with a gti or gts

Well it may be possible to over ride the rev. limiter, but illegal to do so for a recreational ski, the feds. have set limits on how fast a ski will go, I believe 70mph is the limit.

This might be a dumb question then why buy sc models just getting to 65-70 quicker?

It's not illegal to bypass the limiter. An ecu re-flash is available along with numerous go fast goodies for that motor.

Yes...the stock 260's hole shot is much better than the 215's.

I have a GTI and a GTR. The acceleration on the GTR will be worth the money alone. The GTI is nice but the GTR is like a V8 Camaro while the GTI is like a Camry. Top speed on my GTI is about 57 and the GTR is 66, believe it or not that is a really big difference. My son and wife ride the GTI mostly, I don't feel safe with them riding the GTR.

he performance difference is very substantial... LOVE my SC ski. I have hit 72 mph a few time. But in most cases, you cruise 40 to 45 mph in decent water and in the 20's when it is rough or choppy.
