Just wanted to see what people think about adding a fuel filter in line between the carb and the gas tank. Good idea or not? I have a 97 GTI with the original gray lines which I'll probably end up switching out but fuel filter allows me to view the fuel and see if it's moving in another layer protection.

Oh never mind I just found the whole thread on adding fuel filters.

This has been brought up a few times on the forums. It seems the consensus is that yes it can be done and yes it's not a bad idea. However, the concern is that the filter be the right size and allow the correct flow of fuel to keep up with the demand of the motor.

I believe the main concern was that many fuel filters step down the diameter of hose on the way export side

It's not a good idea, totally unnecessary, you could end up restricting the fuel flow. You already have 3 filters, one on the fuel baffle, one under the steering and one in the carbs. You don't need a 4th one.
