So what is the word on the new ACE 300 motor? Are there any good articles/videos out there explaining the difference between the new motor and the old tried and true 4-tec that has been around since 02'. I may be in the market for a new ski later this year (coming from an 02 GTX 4-tec) but the fact the ACE motor is yet to be proven has me a little leery of going to the 300 version.

I hear the supercharger is maintenance free . Nobody seems to believe it at least people I talked to about it . The guys at pwc muscle already have a tune for it . It will boost top speed to around 85 mph

Yeah the sales guy I talked with today said BRP recommends the S/C be "inspected" at 200hrs but shouldn't need a rebuild. Figure it will be a season or two before owners start hitting those kind of hours so its all hearsay at the moment.

It may just be the larger hulls on the newer boats but the ACE motor actually looked smaller/more compact than the 4-tec in my boat.

They weigh more and there longer same width . I don't know if I would want to buy first year out . Let them get the bugs out of them

i've been excited reading about some of the "near stock" speeds they are getting, kinda crazy.

the good new's is: early review's have been very very positive.

added bonus: it will drive down the price on the 4tec's a little bit more, and they've already been dropping faster than I expected, so it will be a buyers market for non 300 4tec for the next few years IMO.

Thinking about the use of nickalcel in the engine liners. Seems to me Polaris has been using nickalcel in their engines a long time . I kind of like standard iron sleeves . A lot cheeper for rebuild . Always remember this is first year seadoo is using nickalcel in there engines . I hope they have coating process right .

Well it only takes one breakdown . And if you put a Nort or a cut in one cylinder you will be looking for a short block

Actually it appears it is not Nicasil.

Rather than having cast-in, iron liners, the running surface of the cylinders is now “sprayed” in. This new process is not an electro plating like Nikasil, or Chrome, it is called a “plasma coating” process whereby iron powder is super-heated and sprayed onto the prepared aluminum surface. This process first appeared in Formula-1 and NASCAR racing. It creates a very thin iron surface with several advantages over cast or pressed in cast iron sleeves. It is smoother, harder, and transfers heat much better. In addition there is less friction and fewer overall emissions.

I would of liked to see seadoo bring back a newly engineered 2 stroke kind of a copy off the etech outboard then put it in a jetski . Then it would be a fuel sipping beast

I heard that they would not be able to tell you put a tune on it . I definitely would . Why would you buy a 300 hp jet ski . My rxp 215 does 74

Also I would be sick to my stomach if I threw down 160 Benjamin's and got beat by a rxp 215

Oh you better believe they can see if its been tuned and will have no problem denying warranty. That is pretty much the case for all ECUs out there these days.

Your crazy... STock is limited to 67-68 by coast guard. SHow me another mod that will get you 7MPH for $200. Doesn't exist...

A Prius can hit 75, so can a Vette. Which one will get there first? It's not about the destination, it's about how fast you get there.

The question you should be asking is how it stacks up with Yamaha s fastest
Lol, I wouldn't ask that question to myself. I'd rather ride the slowest Seadoo than the fastest Yahamalog. I can't stand yamaha's, never cared for their "looks", especially their snowmobiles. You talking to a brainwashed brp die hard.
