Hi All:

This is the first time for me winterizing my Sea Doo, and, as has been mentioned here, the manual is of little help.

I understand the need to pour in pure anti freeze, but, I am uncertain as to exactly where to do this.

On the picture, do I pour in the area of the red circle, or the blue circle, or, somewhere else ?

The boat is a 2008 Speedster 150 (155 hp)

Thanks for the indulgence !

Jeff

Actually a authentic seadoo manual is a perfect help. The blue hose is what comes from the exhaust manifold...the red is an exit line. Be sure to read my link on the 4-tec's, in my signature. It has some great info on doing a winterizing.

Winterizing ???

On my Speedster 200 I poured it in what have been the blue circle. Pulled that hose off and poured it there. I have a SCIC engine and had to pour some down there as well.

I still second guess it but I read enough about the winterizing using the help from this board to do it.

Thanks Karl

Thanks Karl:

I did read the link in your signature which actually prompted my post. The only thing that was unclear was where to actually put the 10 oz of anti freeze as outlined in 16 (d) of your post.

Looks like the hose circled in blue on my photo is the correct place

Will this work as well

I pumped 5 gallons of 50/50 antifreeze through my closed loop 215 4tec while engine was on through the 3/4 hose adapter on jet drive, basically injecting it all with anti freeze, pretty sure this works as well,

kustomkarl what is your thought on this?

Also instead of fogging engine, I crank it up at least once or twice a month for about 45 sec at low idle, this should keep every thing lubed!

Well by cranking it up every month you will loose all the anti-freeze in the exhaust system...which shouldn't be a problem as long as you don't run water through it. I would think if you were to do this for about 15-25 seconds might be a better, shorter time as the exhaust won't have any real cooling in it to keep the temp. down, and still allow lube to coat the internals of engine. I don't run my 200spssdster for more than 15-20 seconds on the hose, on my lift after using it.

is there coolant in the intercooler of a scic sportster 06

If I put antifreeze through the 3/4 hose above the steering rod on jet drive would that cover all the spots. I live in michigan and don't start it during winter. It sits in my pole barn. I was also wondering if he oil filter was all element like an eco-tec on a cavalier, under that star nut?

Read the links in my signature for winterizing your seadoo. Yes, the oil filter is under the oil filter cap.

didn't mean to put you out.

I don't have books on this stuff and don't know anyone with a jetboat. I just got on this website today. Thanks for the sarcastic comment on the oil filter though. I did the flush before the way that one guy did, didn't know if it was right though.I built my own house and built my t-bucket engine and chassis, but I ask a simple question about something I know very little about and I'm treated like a jackass. Thanks.

That wasn't a sarcastic comment...You seemed to question if in deed that was the oil filter, I replied that "yes, it was the location"...I'm not sure who your referring to in your post... "the way that one guy did", is, but information on doing a 4-tec winterizing is just a click away if you followed the link I suggested in my signature. You kinda jumped in the middle of another members post on winterizing. If you followed it from the first post you might have picked up on the full idea of this thread. If you wanted better information, you could simply make your own thread and ask questions on winterizing. If your not sure on how to change the oil you could ask that too. in your own thread or start another one also. The idea of this forum is to ask questions and get a answer relative to that question. If everyone just jumped in any post and asked all kinds of non related questions, we would have just 1 long thread...
