99 GTX RFI will not beep when putting on key

I have 99 GTX RFI that will not beep. Had not ridden or turned on for 5 years. Yesterday after putting a new battery in it was trying to start it. Key beeped but it would not start. Quit and when tried again it would not beep when putting the key on it.

I checked the 5 amp fuse in the front and looks fine. It is clicking when putting the lanyard on but no beep. Any help appreciated.

Check you battery connections and the ground wire going to the starter area. The wire might look good but be corroded in the connector. If necessary cut off the end and install a new one.

The battery connection look good. I found a 10amp fuse that was burned out in the front. I initially looked at the 5amp. Wife is getting a new fuse and then will give it a try.

Once I get back to beeps then I will try to actually get it to start.
