98 seadoo gsx 951 vts swap to 97 seadoo gsx 787 ?

Is it easy or even possible to swap out VTS motor assemblys from a 98 GSX 951 to a 97 GSX 787 ? They appear to be the same motor style visually. Also has anybody used any of the aftermarket electric VTS motors that bypass broken factory units. Saw them on ebay last season selling for about $75. Just wondering if they really work.

You can open the cover, remove the 3 bolts and change the vts motr out.
