98 GTX DI - shuts off randomly - !!

have a 98 gtx DI .... rides great for like 10 miles then dies... and wont start...
does it every time after about a hour of riding...

- no beeps when lanyard is hooked up
- no beeps in adv diag mode...nothing happens
- start/stop button... starts but doesn't stop!!!
- had a new computer about 5 months ago..
- TACH doesnt work.... nor does the digital tach
- speedo works and digital speedo works

have no idea... dont want to buy another computer

It sounds like it's just a loose wire connection. Check the wire connections on the battery to be clean and getting a good connection. Follow the battery ground - wire to the engine near the starter to check the ground wire connection. If it looks ok it still might be corroded inside and need a new end connector. From what your saying, it sounds just like it has a bad electrical connection somewhere.
