I am looking for some help on my ski's,both are 1998 GTI's

one keeps blowing the 5 amp fuse, I believe when I hit the on/off button, I have looked in the electrical box ( there is a solenoid and coil in it ) and nothing looks bad, the 15 amp fuse that is in the box is good , how can I test the solenoid & coil to rule it out, any idea's on what else it could be? Any help would greatly be appreciated.

The other runs great, but smokes alot when starting, after running it awhile in the water it clears up,I understand oil is leaking by, but where and is it worth the $ to fix it ?

Thanks,

If you keep blowing the 5a fuese... most likely, your MPEM is bad. (did you jump start the ski?)

The problem is... the main diode in the MPEM has failed. In the "How to" section, there is a thread that will show you how to replace it.

As far as the smoke... don't worry about it. Run it until the engine needs a rebuild.

Hard to say about the jump starting, I have not but, I did loan it to a family member. Thats when I found this problem. So they might have.Thank you so much.
