97'GTX won't turn over with plugs installed?

I was given a 97'GTX with no history behind it. So before I cranked it over I removed the sparrk plugs to check condition. I jumped the starter & it blew a good bit of oil out of the cylinders. More out of one than the other. I continued to crank it over in 5-10 second intervals until most all of the oil had blown out. Now when I replaced the plugs it won"t turn over.
What's going on with this motor? Anybody have a solution?
Thank You for your help, Pontoon Pat

Battery?

Have you checked the condition of the battery? You can jump your ski from another vehicle, just make sure the other vehicle is not running. Also check the battery cables for signs of corrosion.

Jumped the starter

Being that I don't have the key reprogramed yet, I jumped the starter with a jump box to turn it over. It turns over great with the spark plugs out. It just does not turn over with them in.
Can these motors hydrolock if there's too much fluid in the crankcase. If so, how does one remove the fluid from the back side of the pistons? I believe that I have all the fluid off the top sides of the pistons. Thx

You may still have a problem with corrosive cables from the power cables and the ground cable. Check them both. In a 2 stroke the cylinders have transfer ports, where as fuel enters the crank area then transfers to the top of the pistons, via the transfer ports under compression, combust and fire the fuel. That's basics as to how a 2 stroke works. it takes 2 strokes to complete the cycle.

If there is alot of oil in the cylinders it will oil lock, I had the same problem on a 1998 gtx. All I did was pull the head off and clean the oil out of the cyls, and cranked it a bit over.....Then it ran fine...I was in the same boat as you with the no history deal..

PS, you dont NEED to pull the head, just spray some carb cleaner and crank away, until the oil clears out fully...PS turn the fuel off when doing that

Spray the carb cleaner in the head/where you pull the plugs from? Or spray it in the carbs?
