I have a single engine sportster. Runs great for about 2 or 3 miles then it loses power. I can back down to an idle for 3 or 4 minutes and it runs great again. I have had problems fouling plugs so we cut the oiler out and I premix 50:1. I fouled the plugs again yesterday. I have pulled the carbs off and had a loose bolt. I repaired that. I am lost! Please help

Yup... what he said. Although, I don't think you have gray hoses... But the carbs needing cleaned is a must.

Next... if you are running pre-mix... you should be running 40:1. 50:1 is not enough oil at full throttle.

When you pulled the injection system... how did you do it? You know, your engine has a rotary valve, and gear system that still needs the oil from the oil tank... right? The only reason I'm mentioning it, is because I've seen 4 or 5 threads this year on people removing the tank, and they roast the center gears.

Finally, how old is the engine? You could have low compression, and you're not burning all the fuel/oil mix... you could be leaking oil from the rotary gears, into the crankcase... or your carbs could have a leaky needle and seat.

No grey hose. I have cleaned the carbs. I just dissconneted the oil pump but I will reconnect it but stop the flow to the carbs. I forgot to check commpression. Thanks for your help. I will try that.
