What is the difference between a sportster LE and just a sportster? I just purchased a 97 le and it has a fast and ski lever and a rear facing seat? I assume its a ski package? What does the lever end up doing when switched between each mode. I am new to these boats. Just purchased for a dingy for the cruiser.

I'm a little confused. A 97 Sportster did not have a rear-facing (spotter) seat unless you mean the one way in the bow which really isn't a seat. 98 and 99 Sportsters were 1800s and were totally different boats with a completely unique floor plan. To my knowledge, Sportster LE's didn't start until the year 2000. I owned one. They were basically a blue 97 Speedster with a 951 single. They made an LT model in the 2000's as well which I think had twin 720's, Which basically made it a 97 Speedster. Also, I've never heard of a fast and ski lever. Maybe you can expand a little, and double-check exactly which boat you have.

Title says its a 97 bombardier... See attached pics.

I posted some pics of what I have... I cant find one like it anywhere. I just purchased it for 2g. Has 148psi in both cylinders and seems to run great.

Well looking into this a little further maybe its a challenger 15ft. What is the difference between a sportster and challenger then?

I think the 97 challenger has the 787 engine and the sportster has a 717 and the sportster doesn’t have the rear facing seat
