97 sportster RH mirror

finally realized what ELSE was missing.... i have no rearview mirror! anyone know of where i can get a set, LH RH for my 97 sprotster? i figured that the 2 odd looking ear-like things that are on either side of the console, must have been for mirrors! i was staring at these and now i know what is supposed to be there..lol

Nope... the hood on your boat came from the Si ski hull. The two "Ear's" were clearance for the fuel fill cap, and the fuel shut off valve. On your boat... the "Ear's" should have a vent in those spots. This keeps the fumes from building up in the bilge.

If you want mirrors... you can simply use the hood from an XP or an SPX. (depending on the year)

When I rebuilt the boat in my avatar... I was going to put an XP hood on it... but then I decided that mirrors on a boat are dam near useless. (just my 2 cents)

I agree with Tony, the little mirrors are useless. I hardly ever use mine.
