This weekend I was out on the water and ended up getting water in the motor. I didn't notice one of the drain plugs came undone. I jumped on and cranked it over a few times then nothing. I jumped off and noticed it sitting low and found the plug out. We pulled it out of the water and still nothing. I put the key on and it beeped but the starter relay clicks once and thats it. We pulled the plugs and my buddy touched the two relay posts and it started cranking over pushing water out of the spark plug holes. We did that about 10 times off and on making sure not to over heat the starter. I have swapped out spark plugs added a little oil the the cylinders so they didn't rust. It has spark and fuel. It will only turn over with the plugs out and will not turn over from the start button. Can someone give me an idea what to try next? Thank you for your help.

There is still water in the engine... and now the battery is weak. Charge the battery, and continue cranking until the engine is clear. Then, put in some new plugs, and use a little starter fluid to get it running. if you don't get it started... you won't get all the water out, and the engine will rust internally. You need to do this as soon as possible. If you let it sit for a few days... the engine may never recover from it.

Do not crank the engine with the charger hooked to the battery. you can kill the MPEM if you do.

Be careful using starting fluid, as it has no lubrication value and could cause a seizure. Use premixed fuel and oil to aid in starting the engine. Yes you must get it started to prevent further damage. The quicker you it get running, the less chance of internal damage from water.

Well I got it started and alot of water came out. I kept swapping out the plugs until no more water or white smoke came out. But it still will not start with the start button. I put the key on it beeps and the starter ralay clicks and thats it. I touch the relay posts together and it starts up, do I need a new starter?

By jumping the starter solenoid, means your by-passing the solenoid. It might need replacing. Your starter is fine, or it wouldn't start at all.
