97.5 GSX LIMITED smoking issue

Hello Everyone,
Once again I’m looking for wisdom…

I am resurrecting an old GSX Limited (Gray Ghost) and ran into a strange issue. I starts well and runs but is definitely burning too much oil. It definitely runs like it’s getting too much oil as well. Very sluggish. I have tried adjusting the low idle screw but will not fix the over-smoking. I removed the exhaust and it was an oily sticky mess. I checked the oil injector for alignment and it was good. Can the oil injector cause that much excess oil? Any help or advise is welcome!

Too much fuel will also cause the same thing.

II have had a similar issue in the past with a 787 GTX and it was a misaligned injection pump. Just wondering if pumps can go bad by over oiling. I pulled the plugs and they were oily but not totally soaked.I have made several adjustments to the carbs and the ski runs but just seems really rich. And never had that clean snappy throttle
