96 XP Stock RPM Limit, and Top Speed RPM. (Impeller Questions)

So I am considering replacing/ or restoring my impeller and wanted a good idea of what RPM and speed people are getting with various props on a stock engine.

Currently I have a new to me ski with a fresh rebuild (~160 psi in each hole). My hull has some abrasions below the waterline from beaching.

I see 53.1 mph on my GPS at 6700- 6800 (peak) rpm.

Does that seem normal?

Could I pick up a bit of top end with a different impeller without suffering too much on the bottom end? (X0 perhaps?)

As of now I plan to keep the engine completely stock, and just focus on hull and pump mods.

Thanks for the insight.

95-96 XP's with 800 engines in them should be a solid 55.5-58MPH ski. How is your wear ring? If you have a top loader grate minus 1MPH from these estimates but you should definitely been in that range. I had a 720cc XP/SPX that would do 52MPH on GPS if that tells you anything.

wow 56.... I think I would crap myself going 66 on an x4. Now if this was a craiglist posting..... goes about 75 on smooth water.
