Houston, we have ignition!

Engine sounds so smooth, fires right up with a tap of the go button. So, from never hearing it run, beep, or do anything but sit there it finally runs. It's nice to know that so far the adventure has been worth it. It's been 5 months and 6 days to get to this point! Stay tuned!

Yes it feels great, and the temp sensor is hooked up, but thanks. I did have it off and figured I better plug it on.

Did you end up buying/renting an alignment tool or did someone from the forum hook you up?

Nope, I bought one years ago. I figured with the Speedster and having two engines in it I might as well just own one. I was a bit pissed when it showed up and the aluminum was un-anodized. So I sent the standard plate and the HX plate out with a batch of parts at work and had them black anodized!

Now that it runs I need to put in on my single and hit the dealer to have my spare key programmed. I was gonna hit Tonka up but the local dealer will do it for $35 and I don't have to rip my shiz apart, if they said $50 Tonka would be doing it for sure! I already replaced the post suspecting it was the post but it takes me like 50 tries to get her to do the double beep. I have cleaned, scuffed, and re-cleaned the key, God for bid I was drifting towards a waterfall or a dam. Both posts do the same exact thing, annoying to say the least.

WOW! That sounds amazing. I'll get you the measurement pics as soon as I can. That was on the agenda this weekend but we ended up fighting with my pump for several hours.

Right on, take care if your stuff first that's more important!

Well it's Xmas time! I was supposed to get a seat cover for an Xmas present and drug my feet on it. So my in laws gave me the cash instead. Boy was I glad I waited, I turned this up! The night I posted the 99 SPX that JSG snapped up was the same night I started on this deal I found both on Search Tempest. I came to the realization that I need a seat foam for the XP since it was clapped out, so pricing stock flat seats locally and shipping and Pm'ing with JSG on how much he has into some of his seats with the Jet Trim covers I figured if I could stay under that with shipping I would be good to go. I did that but I got a really clean all original 99 SPX seat that is better then what I could have asked for. The guy I got it from was super cool to deal with and worked with me all through the process, I did the shipping through our works UPS account to save some cash on the shipping. So it just arrived today and I couldn't be happier. The mats are just there for the color effect, they're not stuck down yet. I also buffed the hole ski again to get out some swirl marks and the hit it with polish and then wax again, I don't even think the dust can stick to it anymore! I just need to do the hood, put the pump in and nut and bolt the entire ski and were good to go!

Its going to look great. I told you the hump seat will give it a totally different look, that one looks mint

It's every bit of sexy! The vinyl is still soft, pliable and the foam is like 1999 new. The heat seal on the seat is even still intact. The guy I got it from, John, said I was going to LOVE the seat and it met every expectation! If you guys ever find any parts listed by a guy by the name of John_Ciocca over on pwctoday or anywhere online, have no fear he is a great guy to deal with.

I bought a new black and yellow Jettrim touring seat cover from John about six weeks ago. He is a good seller. Maybe he couldn't bring himself to put it on that minty seat just to get his colors right.

John has a SICK Yellow hump seat on his XP, from the pics he sent to me it looked to be NOS. Perhaps your right about this seat and not being able to destroy it. He had told me that my seat came from Watoose, the guys who make the light weight race hulls. It would stand to reason with all the extra ventilation they put in the underside of the actual seat base as seen in these pics. Either way, I'm glad to have been able to do the deal for the seat and even more thrilled that it's still wrapped in its factory skin. This was a quick way to get my XP closer to the finish line. John has some really nice skis and parts, I'd have to say if the stuff he buys or sells isn't uber clean it's probably NOS.

What ever was under this seat needed to breathe that's for sure.

I was wondering if you got that from John.

You gonna do the hood in silver now?

I'm going to do it in gray carbon fiber wrap. It will be my first venture into it, so why not start on something impossible, right? Hey if it turns out like shizz my buddy builds high end hot rods and he has some really nice grays in his paint inventory so I could just drop it off and pick it up. But I'd like to give the wrap a shot first.

There was a dude that came on one of the forums a while back messing with it. He was a Toyota tuner guy and had made cb door interiors. He was off to a good start and even had folks jumping on to make orders and such but then he just faded away.

I need those block off plates before you start filling hood orders. (lol)

I got the 951 stuff from Nick the other day that is just about wrapped up I just need to hit the dealer for a 951 carb gasket, if not I need to get one from Nick.

No, I'm not taking orders on wrapping hoods with CF vinyl, it might look like a 2 year olds craft project when I'm done.:D

I remember reading about the carbon fiber guy too, if i remember correctly, he was making some parts for Nick but then his original price went way up and the deal came apart, But he was making real carbon fiber parts, he was not just wrapping them. I watched a video on youtube that made it look real easy. I will see if I can find it and post it.

Yup its inevitable with these 'glass guys fabbing stuff. When you get a quote...double it.

Look for a guy who knows how to do "wet" painting. They can paint a carbon fiber look like nothing on any part.

I watched some vids on like and have talked to a place, so I'm going to take a stab at it. Heck, anything is better then the teal green now, even rattle can would look nicer! But please I'll take any info you are willing to pass along. The way I look at it is, I'm always willing to learn. The trans grenaded in my Yukon, and my father had been badgering me for years to rebuild an automatic, he kept telling me it was the only component I hadn't been into yet other than outside of upgrading converters and shift kits. So why the frig not, so armed with all the right tools a DVD on how to rebuild your 4l60e GM trans(not kidding) I did it. Upgraded some hard parts, put in a shift kit, Corvette servos, pump upgrade and BAM!! almost 30K later she is still going strong, no drips, hicccups, or anything. Last year I did my Dad's 700r4 in his Blazer so vinyl is just another skill to learn.

I would but there is one hang up: I'M CHEAP and guys who paint good don't work cheap.

Now my buddy isn't tech savvy so I help him with his "Tech" stuff at the shop and I could get my hood sprayed fo' free.

This one they wrap a hood

I was trying to find one I saw a while back where 2 guys wrap a complete audi, and they also wrapped a gsxr. I think the video was out of the neatherlands. I saw it a while back because I had the same idea you had about wrapping hoods, i cant remember how I found it. Some of those wraps look real good, but they have alot of different kinds. Are you planning on using the 3m stuff?
