96 XP PTO identification

I can't seem to find any pictures on the internet that look like the PTO on my 96 XP. I'm wondering if the part is aftermarket? And if it is, should I replace it with a stock part since I'm biased towards reliability vs speed.

aftermarket (or, atleast, someone turned down the stocker for lighter weight)
go back with a stock PTO.

Well, unless there's a hole in that plywood that looks like it's of a 97XP pto.

It's just a stocker turned down and pipe wrenched lol. There is a lot more heat with that one, stock would be better if your not doing mods.

97 XP uses the fingered one with the rubber coupler like your HX.

There are tons of good used ones out there in the 20-25 dollar shipped range so don't pay too much. Your old one is worth at least that to somebody willing to give up a little reliability for a performance increase.
