96 xp issues???

Hello I have a 96 xp it starts and runs fine when you put in the water it runs great for about 10-15 minutes then it seems like it drops a cylinder will only run at an idle or about half throttle if you give it more throttle it just bogs if you let it sit for a while it will do the whole process over again seems like its once it gets warmed up? would a coil do this? any ideas would help?????tried new plugs

Suggest you do a plug chop and compare with Louis's chart in Snipes Corner.

get 2 spark checkers and put one in each spark plug line and go riding and see which one maybe cutting out other wise you might just need to adjust the carbs so they back in sync.

Yup, and water in rear box can make it spark intermittantly or quit. Bills86e

next time it bogs out...see if turning it off and restarting it does anything. My boys 96 XP would drop down to one cylinder, then restarting it would bring both cylinders right back to life....hate to say this...but it eventually got a lot worse and turned out to be the MPEM.
