Ok, just had the maiden voyage, since i purchased the boat and put it all back together.

The ski runs fine, but the battery lights flash every now and then, the light come on sometimes under hard acceleration and intermittently when backing off and when there is a bit of chop etc.

The battery connections are tight and the front and rear electrical boxes are tided down.

Any ideas as to the problem?

I was thinking of installing an isolator switch is this something worthwhile or not?

Regards,
Tim

Just went out again, after charging the battery, and now the light is on all the time.

I checked the voltage with a multimeter and it was 12.5V so i don't think it is charging.

So what would be the next step? and do i have to take the motor out to service the stator / charging circuit?

when i put the meter on the battery and revved the motor above 4k the voltage did not increase.

so it seems it is either the regulator or stator?

the regulator is in the back electrical box, right?

Thanks for the advise, will take out the reg tomorrow.

Now for the big question, OEM or aftermarket or something that will fit and do the job ( my mate has an autoelec business )

Well i got the front box out and the 15A fuse was blown, so i have replaced it and now the battery is charging at 13.5 V.

Hope to be on the water tomorrow
