Cool, I skipped mind reading class, so what was it?

I believe that battery was shorted out. And I cleaned all connections going to gauges, plug ends. I thought I was dealing possibly with a time out issue with the mpem - removed battery - ski sat overnight installed new battery - has not been a issue since.

What kind of paint did you use on the engine???
VHT engine paint - have had great success with it. Skis I have built years ago with this paint still look great.

Cool deal on the update--just trying to get it posted to possibly help someone down the road if they search for something like lights on the gauges. Sorry it's a pet peeve of mine, nothing worse then searching for a problem to find a dead end thread. You have 10 guys suggesting 10 things and the OP never posts which one of the 10 did the fix, this is big on automotive forums.

Those engines turned out good, you might want to tape off the spark plug ground tabs before painting and the hot stud on the starter--that paint will come back to burn you azz on there(starter). The white one is my fav followed by the yellow, looks good and keep up the good work, dig the black/yellow combo for sure.

Trust me - they all get cleaned up, all threads are tapped, gasket side flat surfaces get sanded/polished with a air dremel. All RV oil lines, plugs &hoses get swapped out as well.

Actually the silver motor looked the best in the ski - pic's don't do it justice. Looked like it was chrome plated in the hull.

That's really close on runtime with no water... Sounds good though... A little smokey also. Are you premixing or is it injected?

Its extra smokey cause it still breaking in with break in oil. That will let up some after some use and that tank of fuel is ran out. Run time was 50 seconds, was not fast enough with camera in hand.

It looks worse in the video because the button is gone, the part that is $2.10 slides in that groove, yours is not there. You are pushing on the actual button not the little cover, after all you have done to it, just figured 0.1% of your asking price wouldnt break the bank. I thought it would be a cheap and easy finishing touch. As for ***holes your right everyone does have one and some may not think theirs stink but then there is the person who knows theirs stinks to high heaven but wont wash it. On a chat board you might tend to get an opinion or two. I guess you missed the First part of that post huh, LOOKS GREAT. I wasnt trying to bad mouth your gtx, just trying to help by letting you know where to get it cheap. Thats why this board is here to learn little things from people. I have learned alot from guys on this forum from them posting things like that on my threads

El Toro had to make a run to SBT and he picked me up three buttons and wont let me pay him for them. I feel guilty and want to spread the good deed. Getumcustom- give me your address and I'll drop a new button cover in the mail today free.

No harm done Jetskigoodies - i was just being a smarty pants! To be honest I dont think I ever had a ski yet that had a button on top of the switch like that - I knew they were out there, just never did get one. Can you slide that button in without pulling it apart?

Yes they just slide right in, you may need a small flat head or pick tool to clean all of the old one out of there but you dont need to take anything apart.
