Hi. 96 GTX, 104 hours.
Starts great cold, and after a small warm up when you go to take off, it seems like its going to go wide open and then drops down to 4k and the engine sounds like its studdering. Eventually it will come out of it.
It did it to me for about 5 minutes today, then ran fine the rest of the day (and tank of fuel) then my brother wanted to try it out so we put some new fuel in and it did it to him for about 5 minutes.
It looks like the spark is weak to me, compared to other sparks i've seen but I cleaned all the connections (electrical/battery cables/etc) and it didnt' seem to improve.
Now directly after running it, the plugs look normal. They aren't wet, light brown colored. So it doesn't seem like it isn't firing however I haven't had a chance to pull the plugs while its been acting up (I never take tools to the lake, guess I should)
Anyone have any thoughts? I'm going to take it back out tomorrow morning and try it again and see if it acts up. I know last year it was fogged and winterized but it doesn't seem to have anythning to do with it.
When it is warm, it runs great. It does sound a little ratty up around 4-5k but just a touch more throttle and it takes right off. Help please =)
