96 GT(x) ignition problem

Hi!
I have a 96 GT that says GTX on the sticker on the side. I put a new battery in it, and it is properly charged. When I put the ignition kill switch on, it does the beep beep as it should, but when I push the start stop switch, the starter doesn't even click. I checked the 6 fuses at the front, and they all tested OK. I am not much of a mechanic, but do have good technical skills if that makes any sense. I put a volt meter on the battery, and the voltage (just under 13 volts) does not change when I push the start button. Any suggestions on what to try next?

check the voltage on the starter side on the starter selonid when you hit the start botton it should be about equal as what was read in the battery. If it isn't you may need a new selonid cost about $40
