Ignition ON, start

Hello there,

I am new here and I am planing to buy old XP from 96 but engine is totaly siezed and disasambled to parts. Before buy I want to test electronics if is it possible to "turn on ignition" and when i hit start if i have power to starter solenoid. I put AGM booster on (so like battery) and it is tottaly dead. Whole electronic is in hull only engine missing. So there are free cables to starter and to magneto and temperature switch. Is it somehow possible to just test ignition and hear a beep without that engine? Or did I need to put in magneto only? I also tried to give 12V to RED-PURPLE via 15A fuse and ground to BLACK post in box on table only to MPEM by laboratory power suply but there is 0A of current so totaly dead.

Thanks

No, everything is grounded through the engine.

DO NOT ever connect any jumber or booster to the MPEM or you will probably fry it.

Electronics on these are pretty robust unless you jump or boost them. Typically only the voltage regulators fail on these.

Ok, thank you for your reply

Ok so it doesnt like amperage spikes. Understand. I only simulate battery. So how can I simulate without engine? I dont want to buy jetskii, made an engine rebuild from zero and then with new engine realized that electronics is dead. I need to test that electronic before i buy that jetskii

Is there some way? How to simulate. Just plug-in magneto for example?

It's unlikely the MEPM is dead (its the only real electronic part of the whole seadoo system ) and even then they are not hard to come by, however they do need to be programmed to the "key" in 96+ models
